How Tianma Travel handles your information.
Effective May 12, 2026
Tianma Travel Ltd. ("Tianma Travel," "we," "us," or "our") is a licensed travel agency based at 300 — 3665 Kingsway, Vancouver, BC, Canada. This notice explains what personal information we collect through tianmatravel.ca, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to inquiries, mailing list sign-ups, bookings we arrange on your behalf, and any other communication initiated through this website.
1. Information we collect
Contact and travel details you send us. When you submit the inquiry form, sign up for the mailing list, email us, call, or message us on WeChat, we receive the information you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, preferred destination, travel dates, party size, and any preferences or special requirements you choose to share.
Booking information. If you proceed to a booking, we collect the additional details required to issue the booking — passport details, dates of birth, billing information, dietary or accessibility needs, and similar.
Automatically collected technical data. Our hosting provider logs standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps — for security, fraud prevention, and basic traffic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run third-party ad tracking on this site.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and prepare a quote or itinerary.
- To arrange and ticket the travel services you book — flights, hotels, tours, cruises, packages, insurance, and visa application assistance.
- To contact you about your booking before and during travel (schedule changes, document deadlines, supplier confirmations).
- To send you mailing-list emails — seasonal itineraries, limited-availability departures, fare alerts — only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations (IATA, CRA, BC Consumer Protection, anti-money-laundering, anti-spam).
- To keep our records, resolve disputes, and improve the service we provide.
3. Email and electronic communications (CASL)
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation requires your consent before we send commercial electronic messages. We rely on express consent when you sign up for our mailing list or check a marketing opt-in on an inquiry form, and on implied consent for service emails directly related to an inquiry or booking you have initiated. Every marketing email we send includes our business name, postal address, and a working one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribe requests are honoured within 10 business days, usually within minutes.
4. Who we share information with
We share only what is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for or to meet a legal obligation:
- Travel suppliers — airlines, hotels, cruise lines, local tour operators, insurance carriers, and visa-application offices — when arranging a quote or processing a booking on your behalf.
- Payment processors and our agency back office — to handle deposits, final payments, and refunds.
- Email and infrastructure service providers — the platforms that deliver our transactional and marketing email, host this website, and store our agency records.
- Government and regulatory authorities — when required by law (e.g. tax reporting, fraud investigations, anti-money-laundering requirements).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes.
5. International transfers
Travel by its nature involves international suppliers. Where we transfer your information outside of Canada to confirm a booking (for example, to an overseas hotel or tour operator), that information is protected by the contractual obligations we hold with our suppliers and by the privacy laws of the destination jurisdiction.
6. How long we keep your information
Inquiry records that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Booking records are kept for seven years to comply with Canadian tax, accounting, and consumer-protection requirements. Mailing-list records are kept until you unsubscribe, then removed within 10 business days.
7. Your rights
Under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and BC's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, withdraw your consent for non-essential uses (such as marketing emails), and request deletion subject to our legal retention obligations. To exercise any of these rights, email us at Tianmatravelltd@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on agency systems, secure email, and locked physical storage for any paper records. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach involving your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
9. Children
This site is intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Travel information about minors travelling with you is provided by the adult booking the trip.
10. Updates to this notice
We may update this notice as our services or the law evolve. When we do, we update the effective date at the top of the page and, for material changes, post a notice on the home page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised notice.
